This film used devastating footage of the human cost of war to encourage the American public to buy more war bonds. Using footage from the campaigns in the Pacific islands, the film shows unusually graphic images of combat, wounded soldiers, soldiers with psychological damage, and their doctors and caretakers. There is also footage of soldiers in convalescence on hospital ships. These shocking images were used to show that war bonds were necessary to provide medical care to the wounded and dying American GIs during World War II.
