The Gorilla is a remarkable, sidesplitting classic film that features an all star cast. Though starring The Ritz Brothers (Jimmy, Harry, and Al Ritz), viewers are also treated to ample helpings of Bela Lugosi (Dracula), Patsy Kelly, Anita Louise, and Lionel Atwill. This phenomenal troupe was given a great deal of latitude in making The Gorilla, and what they produced is fantastic. The Gorilla is a kooky fusion of slapstick comedy and horror: for example at one point the killer ape carefully plants a funny sign on someones back! Almost transcending silliness, The Gorilla is a must see for fans of vintage comedy.
