Skateboard Sense

Length: 13 Minutes

Originally designed for surfers who wanted something to surf when the waves where flat skateboards have been around since the 1940s. Though it has seen many changes to its design, the skateboard has always been a dangerous way of surfing with only hard asphalt to break your falls. This is why the 1970s Pro Am Skateboard Racing Association promoted this somewhat campy film for greater safety education. With marvelous shots of people performing various stunts, such as one man who does a hand stand while riding on his skateboard, we are also educated on the proper safety gear and proper places to ride the modern day sidewalk surfer. Helmets, arm and knee pads are a must for the smart skateboarder but, such things are purposeless if the skateboarder is not riding in a safe area such as a park or a close off area, away from cars and other dangerous. The film promotes taking precautions is the best way to enjoy your time on the skateboard to the fullest degree. An excellent blast into the 1970s skateboarding scene, the film is an excellent look at an always controversial sport.
