Military Courtesy

Military Courtesy

Produced: 1970s

Length: 30 Minutes

The military is an institution with a rich history steeped in tradition.  Many of these traditions, while old, are still honored today. One of the oldest military courtesies is the salute. It is a way of honoring those of higher rank and paying respect where respect is due. It is an unspoken way of communicating and attention and care must be paid that it is done correctly. This eighties instructional film for officers in the military comes complete with a lecture as to why saluting is necessary along side the logistics of saluting, such as how to salute and times and places the salute is necessary.

Unwelcome Affection

Unwelcome Affection

Produced: 1980s

Length: 14 Minutes

Sexual harassment is no laughing matter and should be paid all the respect and dignity any serious problem deserves. While filmed in the eighties and for military personnel, the scenes and the issues played upon are as poignant today as they were then. Unwelcome Affection, explores different types of sexual harassment through the use of hypothetical situations, which inevitably result in someone with power trying to bully the subordinate into sexual favors. Contrary to a lot of sexual harassment videos of the time, this one includes a female superior bullying a male subordinate into going on a date with her. Questions at the end of the segments make the training video a thoughtful presentation on the serious issue of sexual harassment in the work place.
