Got ants in your pants? We have the answer. Chlordane! A 1959 promotional film to expound on the benefits of insecticides for your home, Goodbye Mrs. Ant, first shows us who the enemy is so we can defeat them. We go on a guided tour of the life cycle of an ant, the narrator mentioning several times how intelligent and driven the ants are. Portrayed as invading terrorists of good, wholesome fun, like the family barbeque, once the ant lesson is complete, the narrator then explains how Chlordane can get rid of the pesky creatures. Scenes showing the chemical in use everywhere, including near cooking surfaces, makes for an ironic statement on just where the real danger lurks.
